Overview

The Software Test Automation Technical Lead possesses a breadth of technical skills and a strong understanding of software test automation and software development core concepts and principles. They are driven to learn and grow as a software engineering professional, to help others do the same, and to meet the evolving needs of both the applications under test and the organization as a whole. They are a self-starter, highly motivated, and possess the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with both domestic and international teams with strong communication skills. They are a team player and possess a sense of ownership and accountability for the quality of Salucro’s product offerings.

As a Software Test Automation Technical Lead with Salucro, you will work within a Scrum based SDLC closely aligned with our product and software development teams to ensure we continue to provide the highest quality hospital and patient facing web applications. You will train and mentor new and junior team members while driving the test automation effort forward. You will be involved in every stage of the software development life cycle to help ensure test automation is complete, maintainable and reliable. You will be the owner of the of the test automation framework, tests and executions and responsible for ensuring that automated testing is of the highest possible quality and reliability.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain an automation framework using JavaScript and Cypress.io against multiple web based payment portals.
  • Drive the implementation of test automation into the deployment pipeline using Docker and Jenkins.
  • Perform reviews of pull requests submitted by other automation team members.
  • Mentor junior team members to help raise the skill level of the team.
  • Implement, enforce and adhere to all code and software quality standards.
  • Debug the automation framework and implement resolutions for issues.
  • Design and develop data models for data driven testing within the automation test suites and develop any required framework to support them.
  • Troubleshoot and develop solutions for automation against difficult-to-automate areas of the product.
  • Identify and communicate automation needs and challenges and follow them through to resolution.
  • Define, drive and report on automation planning and progress to the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Design and implement other test automation where required, using the appropriate technologies for the task at hand including but not limited to Bash in the Linux CLI, Python and microservice APIs.
Skills, Experience, & Minimum Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience as test automation engineer.
  • At least 2 years direct development experience with JavaScript and JavaScript based automation frameworks.
  • Advanced understanding of object oriented programming principles, best practices and design patterns.
  • Advanced understanding of software test automation best practices.
  • Proven experience with designing and implementing automation frameworks.
  • Previous experience with the Cypress.io automation framework preferred.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members.
  • Experience with Git and Bitbucket preferred.
  • Experience with technologies such as Docker, Jenkins, SQL databases, React.JS, Node.JS.
  • Direct experience with programming in additional languages such as Golang, PHP, Python or Java is highly valued.
  • Experience with test automation in Linux server environments highly valued.
  • Hands on experience with API testing using SoapUI and/or Postman preferred.
  • Experience with security/penetration, performance and load testing a plus.
  • Experience working with or around sensitive data (HIPPA/PCI/PII) is preferred.
  • E-commerce and point of sale hardware testing experience is preferred.
  • A high competency in written and oral communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
